Every business generates invoices on a regular basis. The current process usually involves logging in to a complex accounting software that is not always easy to understand for most business owners.
As a result, most of us just leave the invoicing to our accountant who will charge us for their time and the software they are using to make the invoices.
When I heard about the Meta WhatsApp Business Platform cloud API — I was excited to integrate the offerings to Skhokho —Business Software. I asked what if we could simplify how most business owners generate invoices? What if generating an invoice could be done on WhatsApp in less than 5 minutes?
In addition, all the invoices you generate will be available on Skhokho Web when you log in to your account and be included in the business analytics reports, cash flow reports and management accounts.

What is the WhatsApp business platform cloud API?
The WhatsApp Business Platform Cloud API is a set of tools and resources that allows businesses to integrate WhatsApp functionality into their existing systems, such as customer relationship management (CRM) platforms, e-commerce websites, and internal communications systems.
The API enables businesses to send and receive messages, create and manage chatbots, and access analytics and customer data. This allows businesses to communicate with customers, automate customer service, and manage customer interactions all through the WhatsApp platform.
At Skhokho we managed to integrate certain features with WhatsApp to allow users to perform certain business tasks on the go. In this blog we discuss some of those features and why we decided on that route.

Generate Invoices in 5 Minutes on WhatsApp
The process of generating an invoice on WhatsApp is very simple:
Create a Chat Profile: Send a WhatsApp to the following number: +27(0) 82 476 6983. When you message us for the first time, we will either: (1) Link your number to an existing Skhokho account or (2) Create a new Skhokho account for you.
Select what you want to do next: After creating a chat profile, the next time to message Skhokho, you will see a menu that you can use to select the action you want to perform — select “Creating an invoice”.
Enter your business information: If you are creating the invoice for the first time, you will be prompted to enter your business information. Your name, address, etc. Information that is added to every invoice. You only have to enter this information once.
Enter client profile: You will be presented with a list of clients on your Skhokho profile. You can either choose one of those clients to invoice, or create a new client profile.
Select products and services: You will be presented with a list of products and services already on your Skhokho profile. You can select from the list or create a new product or service to add to the invoice.
Add description and additional notes: Add a description to your invoice and additional notes, such as how the client should make payment or references they should use.
Receive the invoice: You will have a choice to either email the invoice to the client directly or not. Either way, you will receive a secure link to download your invoice from WhatsApp.
